Investiture of the Austrian Order of Saint Stanislas in Vienna on the 1st June 2013.

The Whole World as Guests of Viennese Friends.

Flag bearer Sgt. J. Brossmann

And finally, the 1st of June 2013 came: the day of the Investiture of the Order of Saint Stanislaus in Austria. It was quite a huge event that brought 80 members and friends to Vienna. Members from Austria, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, USA, Mexico, Spain and the Netherlands came to Vienna to celebrate the annual international meeting. The Austrian Order of Saint Stanislas organised the events among other places, in the wonderful baroque chapel of the Palace Schönbrunn. Following the Holy Mass, the new members have been invested full-fledge membership and deserving members have also been awarded medals to honour their great achievements. To our great joy and surprise, the celebrating priest Dr. Hochholzer, relayed to us the personal greetings from his Eminence Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna. The mass and the investiture as well as the awarding ceremonies were only the beginning of a long extended celebration that went well over the wee hours of the same day.

Right after the Holy Mass, a group photograph has been taken to capture the event.

After the champagne reception, the castle park train took us around the wonderful baroque park up to the upper Gloriette whereon we enjoyed the incredible view of the parks and the whole palace that was once the Summer Residence of the Habsburg emperors. Our guests had had the opportunity to join the historical tour of the imperial palace.
After a short rest, a typical delicious Viennese lunch was served at the Pavilion of the Imperial Zoo, the oldest zoo in the world.

The evening was graced by a very elegant gala dinner at the impressive marble hall of the Imperial Hotel. Our new member, Chevalier Oswald, together with his orchestra afforded us the utmost entertainment of the evening. The evening's denouements were done by champagne toasts and dignified speeches. The Grand Prior of the Order in Austria, Dr. Alexander Graff de Pancsova summarised in his speech the importance and magnitude of the this event. The speeches as of the Grand Master Count Wademar Wilk and the Grand Prioress of Great Britain, Dame Mervin Redding, brought joy to all of us. Chevalier Mike Michaelsky, the Grand Chancellor of the Order also expressed his thanks and raised his glass to the host country Austria and her members. The chairman of the Regency Council and Regent of the Order, Chev. Tomas L. Lorant, expressed his gratitude and joy for the successful events of the day. With a grand style, the day and its event ended as we left the elegant Imperial Hotel.

In order to have some impression of this wonderful day, we have collated some photos for you. Perhaps next time, you will be there as beloved guest or as new Member of the Order.
